Take Your Business Immigration Expertise In House

Are you a qualified Solicitor looking to take genuine ownership of business immigration and sponsor licence compliance?

Transforming Support is looking for a Business Immigration Solicitor to become its trusted specialist for sponsor licence compliance, UKVI requirements and right to work.

This influential in house role offers the opportunity to focus your expertise on one organisation, without managing an external client caseload. You will work closely with HR, Internal Legal Counsel and senior leadership, helping shape robust immigration processes across the business.

Transforming Support provides person centred supported living and outreach services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs across the UK.

The Role

You will take ownership of the organisation's sponsor licence, business immigration matters and right to work processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Sponsor Licence and associated compliance responsibilities

  • Using and overseeing the Sponsorship Management System

  • Managing Certificates of Sponsorship, reporting duties, records and document retention

  • Advising on Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visa applications, extensions and changes

  • Monitoring changes to UK Immigration Rules and assessing their impact

  • Managing compliant right to work checks and follow up processes

  • Reviewing policies, systems and employee records to identify compliance risks

  • Preparing for UKVI compliance visits, Home Office audits and enforcement contact

  • Developing practical policies, templates and guidance for managers and HR

  • Advising employees, prospective workers, HR colleagues and senior leaders

You will receive administrative support from the HR team and have the opportunity to review existing processes, recommend improvements and implement lasting changes.

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with strong knowledge of business immigration and sponsor compliance.

The role could suit a newly qualified Solicitor or someone with around 1 to 2 years' post qualification experience who is ready for greater ownership. It may also appeal to a more experienced Immigration Solicitor seeking autonomy, flexibility and a move away from an external client caseload.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales

  • Strong current knowledge of business immigration law

  • Knowledge of sponsor licence compliance and sponsor duties

  • Experience using, or good knowledge of, the Sponsorship Management System

  • Experience of Certificates of Sponsorship

  • Knowledge of Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visas

  • A good understanding of UKVI requirements

  • A thorough understanding of right to work legislation and checks

  • The ability to interpret changing Immigration Rules and provide practical guidance

  • Excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Confidence working with HR teams, managers and senior leaders

  • Sound professional judgement when handling sensitive information

Experience within health, social care or another regulated, multi site organisation would be valuable but is not essential.

Why Join Transforming Support?

This is an opportunity to:

  • Move into a permanent in house legal position

  • Become the organisation's trusted immigration specialist

  • Work directly with HR, Internal Legal Counsel and senior leadership

  • Influence organisation wide immigration policies and decisions

  • Build lasting systems and processes

  • Shape how the role develops

  • Use your legal expertise within an organisation providing essential services

Salary and Benefits

You will receive:

  • £40,000 to £55,000 per annum

  • Permanent, full time employment

  • Hybrid working, usually 3 office days and 2 home days

  • Potential to reduce office attendance to 2 days for the right candidate

  • Flexibility around working hours, including school hours

  • 23 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

  • Statutory pension

  • Private healthcare after probation

  • Professional autonomy

  • Minimal travel, with occasional visits to the London office
