Are you an experienced Deputy or Registered Manager ready to lead a high-quality children's home? Our client is looking for a Registered Manager to take full ownership of a residential service supporting young people with EBD, trauma-related needs, and complex backgrounds. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead from the front, build a strong team, and create an environment where children feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and development of the home ensuring it consistently delivers high standards of care in line with Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations. You'll:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the home
- Create a safe, structured and therapeutic environment
- Build, develop and motivate a resilient staff team
- Ensure staffing levels and rotas meet the needs of the service
- Drive a culture of safeguarding, accountability and continuous improvement
- Lead recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management
- Manage on-call responsibilities and provide leadership in critical situations
Safeguarding & Care
Take full responsibility for safeguarding and child welfare. Lead on incidents, allegations, complaints and safeguarding concerns. Champion trauma-informed, relationship-based care. Oversee care plans, risk assessments and placement planning. Ensure children's voices are central to decision-making. Build strong relationships with families, social workers and professionals.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards. Keep the home inspection-ready at all times. Complete audits, Regulation 45 reporting and quality checks. Monitor incidents, restraints and trends to improve outcomes. Maintain accurate, confidential records. Manage budgets effectively without compromising care quality.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- Significant experience in children's residential care
- Experience supporting children with EBD and complex needs
- Previous Deputy or Registered Manager experience
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and Ofsted standards
- Proven experience managing and developing staff teams
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
- Experience within therapeutic or trauma-informed settings
- Knowledge of PACE, attachment theory or restorative practice
