Are you an experienced Senior or Team Leader in children's residential care ready to step up? Our Client is looking for a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in running a safe, structured and nurturing home for young people. This is a key leadership role with real influence over the quality of care, staff development and outcomes for children.
The Role:
- You will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead the service, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Support and deputise for the Registered Manager.
- Lead shifts and provide day-to-day staff supervision.
- Drive high standards in safeguarding, compliance and Ofsted expectations.
- Oversee care planning, recording and documentation.
- Support staff development, supervisions and rota planning.
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.
- Manage incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns effectively.
- Maintain health & safety standards across the home.
- Take part in on-call duties and flexible working.
Requirements:
- Experience in a senior role within children's residential care.
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Sound safeguarding knowledge and a child-centred approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work on-call and across shift patterns.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management (or working towards).
- 2+ years experience in residential childcare.
