Our client is a logistics business based in London, looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to cover a short-term gap in the team on a three-month fixed-term contract. The cover is needed at short notice and there is limited scope for ramp-up, so this will suit someone who has run the FBP role enough times to read a new business quickly and get straight into the substance.
You would inherit an existing portfolio and partner with the commercial and operational stakeholders behind it. The work runs across the usual business partnering ground, owning the planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles for your area, taking month-end through to a clear view of performance against plan, and being able to explain the drivers behind the variances rather than simply reporting them. Beyond the regular cycle, expect to support commercial and operational decisions as they come up (pricing and cost recovery questions, business cases, the financial side of operational change), acting as a credible sounding board for non-finance managers who want to understand the numbers before they commit. The priority is continuity while the seat is covered, so the brief is less about reinvention and more about keeping the area well supported and stakeholders confident.
The ideal candidate will be at least five years post-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a track record of finance business partnering, ideally in logistics, supply chain or a similarly operational setting. You will be comfortable working at pace in a lean team, self-sufficient, and at ease with ambiguity.
The role is full-time on a three-month fixed-term contract, hybrid with three days a week in the London office. The day rate is between £400 and £600, depending on experience.
