ALEXANDER DANIELS are currently recruiting for an experienced finance leader to take ownership of the finance function for a well-established retail business in Leicestershire. This is a senior role with responsibility for financial governance, reporting accuracy, and providing strategic insight to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and ensure timely, accurate reporting
- Oversee the year-end audit process and maintain compliance with statutory requirements
- Manage budgeting and cost control, monitor variances, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct cost reviews with senior stakeholders to drive efficiency and profitability
- Lead and develop a team covering Accounts Payable, Management Accounts, and Stock Control
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, supporting strategic decision-making
What We're Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller or Head of Finance)
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls
- Advanced Excel and ERP system skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
