Alexander Daniels is proud to be partnering with a well-established fast-paced service business in Derby to recruit a Finance Assistant for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role is ideally suited to someone with 1-2 years' experience in a finance or accounts position who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. You will gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities, with the opportunity to build on your existing experience and progress within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices and supporting accounts payable activities
  • Raising sales invoices and assisting with credit control
  • Completing bank reconciliations and posting daily cash transactions
  • Assisting with month-end tasks, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong attention to detail
  • Providing general support to the wider finance team

Skills Experience

  • 1-2 years' experience within a finance or accounts role
  • Experience with bank reconciliations
