A fast-growing, highly successful international consumer brand is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently manage both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, you'll play a critical role in maintaining smooth financial operations across multiple international entities while partnering with commercial teams across the UK, US, and UAE.
The Opportunity
This is a busy, varied role where you'll be trusted to manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, drive cash collection, maintain accurate financial records, and support a growing international business.
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process
- Daily bank reconciliations across UK, US and UAE entities using Xero
- Raise, review and issue customer invoices accurately and efficiently
- Monitor outstanding debt and proactively manage collections
- Send customer statements and produce weekly AR reporting
- Resolve customer account queries and reconciliation issues
- Reconcile Stripe and PayPal transactions
- Maintain accurate customer records and onboarding processes
- Partner with commercial teams to improve collection rates and customer engagement
Accounts Payable
- Own the full Accounts Payable function
- Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Complete supplier and bank reconciliations
- Manage month-end AP reconciliations
- Handle supplier queries and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Manage finance inbox communications
Additional Duties
- Support wider finance operations where required
- Assist with invoice coding and expense processing
- Upload and manage supporting documentation within accounting systems
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements across the finance function
What We're Looking For
Proven bookkeeping experience within a busy finance environment
Strong hands-on experience with Xero is essential
Previous responsibility for both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
Strong Excel and Outlook skills
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Confident communicator who can build relationships across the business
Desirable
- Experience using ApprovalMax, Dext, Bill.com or similar systems
- Accounting qualification or studying towards one
- Experience using AI tools to improve bookkeeping efficiency and accuracy
