The role is responsible for providing financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and business partnering support across a construction focused organisation.
You will play a key role in supporting operational and strategic decision making by providing timely and accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Accounting
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to monitor project performance and profitability.
- Support the preparation and review of project cost and value reporting.
- Develop an understanding of contract terms and payment mechanisms to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Work closely with project managers and commercial teams to support project valuations and final account processes.
- Manage revenue recognition and monthly work-in-progress (WIP) accounting.
- Produce project working capital and cash flow reporting.
- Monitor project performance against budgets and forecasts, providing detailed variance analysis and recommendations.
- Financial Accounting
- Maintain records relating to asset financing and lease agreements.
- Prepare monthly WIP schedules and supporting reconciliations.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and trial balance integrity.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Support the development of annual budgets in collaboration with departmental managers.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse business trends and key performance drivers to support decision-making.
- Maintain rolling financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
