The Process Launch Engineer is responsible for supporting the end-to-end industrialization and launch of manufacturing processes. The role ensures that production systems, processes, and equipment are ready to deliver quality products on time, within cost, and in line with client’s standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support new product introduction (NPI) and process launch activities across manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for new program launches (Facilities, Tooling, Equipment, and Processes).
  • Develop and implement process plans, PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of production equipment and tooling.
  • Drive process capability improvements and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and resolve launch issues, ensuring smooth ramp-up to volume production.
  • Support trial builds, pilot builds, and pre-production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Track and report launch metrics (timing, cost, quality, performance).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in process engineering / launch / NPI activities.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP.
  • Hands-on experience with production line setup and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Engineering concepts (cycle time, line balancing, layouts).
  • Strong problem-solving skills (Root Cause Analysis, 8D, etc.).
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
