The DB2 Cloud Rack Migration Program is a large-scale, business-critical initiative to migrate Market Risk Technology platforms from IBM DB2 Sailfish—scheduled for end of life in September 2026—to IBM DB2 Cloud Rack. The program spans multiple data centers and includes procurement and installation of new Cloud Rack appliances, enterprise network integration, database migration, extensive testing, and full security, compliance, and regulatory sign-off under an aggressive delivery timeline.
The Project Manager will lead end-to-end delivery of the DB2 Cloud Rack Migration Program, owning planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder alignment across technology, security, compliance, vendors, and business teams. This role is accountable for delivering against tight milestones, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring the program meets all functional, performance, security, and regulatory requirements ahead of Sailfish end of life.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own overall program planning and execution for the DB2 Sailfish to DB2 Cloud Rack migration from initiation through production cutover and stabilization.
- Develop and manage detailed integrated project plans, milestones, and dependencies covering data center readiness, hardware delivery, environment build, testing, and migration waves.
- Coordinate across database engineering, infrastructure, network, application, security, compliance, and IBM vendor teams to ensure aligned execution.
- Track and manage scope, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, proactive driving mitigation and escalation when required.
- Establish and run program governance, including executive status reporting, RAID reviews, and steering committee forums.
- Oversee testing and migration phases ensuring functionality, performance, resiliency, and security readiness prior to stakeholder sign-off.
- Drive cutover planning, rehearsals, and execution to minimize business risk and downtime.
- Ensure required documentation, validation of artifacts, and approvals are produced to meet audit, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain tight control of delivery timelines to ensure platform readiness well ahead of September 2026.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or database migration programs in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data center deployments, database platforms, and mission-critical systems.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex programs under aggressive timelines and high business visibility.
- Experience coordinating across multiple internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong risk management, planning, and execution skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
