A senior leadership role owning end-to-end engineering delivery, and commercial outcomes for a UK and global healthcare software portfolio. You will drive product growth, lead global platform convergence, and embed AI as a core productivity and differentiation capability.

This role will be overseeing software engineering delivery for well established, market leading products at a point where customer led requirements will drive future development effort. You will also be leveraging AI across the software engineering organisation. A great time to join. This will suit someone who has previously owned and can drive strategic decision making across a Software Engineering organisation.

Genuine growth potential: This role is UKI focussed initially, and has genuine growth potential with a road to VP, which would include owning engineering for UKI and EU products.

Key Responsibilities for the Director of Software Engineering:

  • Own Software Engineering end to end: architecture, delivery, and lifecycle for UKI products.
  • Drive growth through differentiated capabilities, faster time to value, and commercial execution.
  • Deliver high-quality, mission-critical, regulated clinical software with clear accountability for outcomes.
  • Lead AI-first transformation across platforms, and engineering practices, improving velocity, quality, and cost to serve.
  • Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Services, and Support to accelerate go-to-market, implementations, renewals, and expansion.
  • Lead globally distributed teams with strong execution discipline and outcome-based accountability - headcount of 65 across UK and India.

Skills & Experience for the Director of Software Engineering:

  • Proven senior leadership ownership of Software Engineering covering workforce transformation, AI strategy & governance and global scale delivery.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering growth in enterprise software.
  • Experience delivering large-scale, regulated or mission-critical platforms.
  • Demonstrated success leading AI-enabled or technology-led transformation.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience leading global, multi-time-zone teams, 70+ headcount.
  • Knowledge of regulated software environments desirable but not essential.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience).
