Are you looking to take your Project Management career to the next level in 2026? Are you keen to stretch yourself in a customer facing delivery role, managing multiple software projects of various sizes into the NHS?
As a Project Manager- Healthcare Software you will manage a portfolio of projects with a selection of key clients. You will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of each project from initiation through to go live, ensuring delivery in accordance with company methods, contractual obligations, and agreed budgets.
There is huge scope for career progression as you start with smaller projects, work packages and upgrades and progress to new projects and eventually regional projects at a more senior level. You will get the chance to work with and learn from experienced senior project and program managers.
Role responsibilities:
- Project management of smaller projects/work packages, upgrades and new customers
- Leading, monitoring and managing multiple concurrent projects (up to 30, mix of work packages and projects) in a customer facing environment
- Undertake project, risk, financial, contractual & commercial management and provide ownership and direction for the entire project life cycle
- Solution team management and matrix team/resource management across delivery, development, and third-party vendor teams
- Project documentation and status reports
- Host internal and external project meetings
- Team motivation and leadership
- Contractual acceptance
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Experience of delivering healthcare software solutions into the NHS from a vendor side perspective (we would also consider candidates directly from the NHS side if they can demonstrate excellent customer facing skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment)
- Evidence of having completed full life cycle projects ranging from 6 to 18 months and managing multiple concurrent projects and work packages
- Experience of delivering or have familiarity of clinical/healthcare applications such as EHR, EPR, ePMA, LIMS, Order Comms, PACS/RIS, PAS, Theatre Management, or similar clinical applications
- Exceptional client facing, presentation and stakeholder skills
- Able to handle difficult customers, scope creep, change control, budgetary issues, high pressure and tight deadlines
- Qualified to Prince2 Foundation and how to use in practical terms
- Matrix people leadership both internally and externally
- Project control, planning and documentation as well as using MS Project
- Financial management (milestone completion, billing and change control)
- Happy with a mix of remote working and occasional on site visits and quarterly team meetings
