At Royston Hospital, we perform a wide range of diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures. With a long-standing history of serving our community, we are proud to be the number one provider of private surgical services in Hawke's Bay.

As a Registered Nurse in our PACU unit, you will provide general anaesthetic, local anaesthetic and monitored sedation recovery to patients both adult and paediatric, as well as discharge to surgical wards and DOSA.

You will also:

  • Provide evidence-based nursing care for patients
  • Provide care in accordance with best nursing practices, company policies and in collaboration with the patient, their family and the wider healthcare team
  • Constructively critique new ideas, proposed changes and developments before adopting new evidence-based practices
  • Anticipate patient’s requirements, discuss with medical colleagues, and organise necessary investigations and equipment
  • Maintain patient safety and integrity by anticipating and managing risks and potential complications in treatments, procedures and the surgical environment – including risks related to infection, positioning and restraint

Your practice will be in line with the code of conduct and professional boundaries of the nursing professional body. This is a permanent position for 60 hours per fortnight and is located at Royston Hospital, Hastings.

  • Registered Nurse with current NZ Nursing Council APC
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or Hospital based training
  • Demonstrated nursing experience in a PACU/DSU preferred
  • Knowledge of the best practice relevant nursing standards of care
  • Committed to continuous quality improvement and personal development
