Great opportunity to work for a boutique consultancy focused on helping clients address their most complex technology resilience and operational continuity challenges. The team engages at all levels but specialises in advising boards and senior management, bringing first-hand experience of the unique resilience challenges faced by leadership teams in an increasingly complex and interconnected technology landscape.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Operational and Technology Resilience Consultant to play a critical role in helping organisations strengthen their technology, operational, and cyber resilience capabilities. This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who excels at advising organisations on resilience strategy, recovery planning, and continuity across complex technology environments.
In this role, you will apply deep expertise across technology resilience, service continuity, and recovery engineering, with cybersecurity as a key integrated component. You will lead assessments of technology resilience maturity, operational resilience capabilities, and enterprise recovery readiness, using recognised industry frameworks. A core part of your work will involve developing pragmatic resilience and recovery roadmaps, identifying architectural and operational vulnerabilities, and mapping critical service dependencies to ensure organisations can withstand, adapt to, and recover from disruption.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Business Impact Assessments
- Performing technology and operational risk assessments
- Supporting the design and enhancement of resilience frameworks and management systems (including ISMS where relevant)
- Evaluating and advising on recovery and resilience technologies, such as backup and restore solutions, high-availability architectures, failover and disaster recovery capabilities, service continuity tooling, and resilience monitoring platforms
- Helping embed effective end-to-end resilience processes, covering detection, response, and recovery, aligned to business priorities, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations, including frameworks such as ISO 22301, NIST, UK CAF, and ISO 27001
- Partnering closely with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and operational resilience leaders, supporting resilience transformation programmes, service continuity improvements, and recovery capability enhancements
- Ownership of project quality, technical review of deliverables, and driving continuous improvement through lessons learned
- Contributing to the growth of the technology resilience offering, helping shape propositions, identify new opportunities, and build senior stakeholder relationships
- Supporting the development of methodologies, creating knowledge assets, and mentoring junior consultants to accelerate their development
You bring at least five years of external consulting experience, a relevant technical degree, and strong expertise in technology resilience architecture, recovery strategies, and service continuity. You are comfortable operating in complex environments and understand risk-based decision making. Familiarity with leading frameworks is essential, and certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO 22301 are advantageous.
