As a Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading medical writing and HTA-focused engagements across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
At this level, you are expected to demonstrate advanced scientific leadership, deep expertise in medical writing through demonstratable experience of having supported HTA submissions, value proposition development, publication writing and market access strategy and evidence synthesis-associated written deliverables.
Senior Managers own large programmes end-to-end, ensuring excellence across scientific communications, HTA submissions, value evidence development, and publication strategy while managing cross-functional teams and maintaining strong client partnerships.
You will influence internal thinking, shape scientific methodologies, and provide leadership that strengthens Acumetis’s scientific communications and market access capabilities.
This role requires advanced leadership, scientific credibility, and a passion for translating complex evidence into clear, impactful communications for diverse audiences including HTA agencies, payers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
This role builds the capabilities required for progression to Associate Director, where strategic ownership of major client accounts, scientific leadership, commercial responsibility, and thought leadership become core expectations.
- ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Core Knowledge
- Lead the development of high-quality medical writing deliverables across HTA, market access, and evidence synthesis projects, ensuring scientific accuracy, strategic alignment, and clear communication of complex evidence.
- Author and review a range of written outputs, including HTA submission materials, value dossiers, value propositions, evidence summaries, publication manuscripts, and other market access and evidence-generation-related deliverables.
- Translate complex clinical, economic, and real-world evidence into compelling, stakeholder-focused narratives tailored to payer, HTA, healthcare professional, and industry audiences.
- Embed Medical Writing, HTA, and Market Access expertise into client engagements, ensuring deliverables effectively communicate evidence and support strategic decision-making.

- Project Management

- Analysis & Strategic Interpretation
- Review clinical, epidemiological, outcomes, and health economic evidence to ensure scientific robustness and strategic value.
- Integrate clinical data, HTA requirements, market dynamics, and policy considerations into clear client recommendations.
- Writing, Storytelling & Deliverables
- Provide senior review and strategic oversight of HTA dossiers, value communications, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and scientific reports.
- Develop compelling evidence-based narratives tailored to payers, HTA bodies, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, consistency, and scientific excellence across all written deliverables.
- Champion best practices in medical writing, publication standards, and scientific communication.
- Business Development
- Contribute actively to proposal development, including scientific methodology, scope definition, and budget planning.
- Support the development of innovative scientific communication and HTA solutions for new and existing clients.
- Build long-term client relationships and contribute to sustainable business growth.
- People Leadership
- Coach and mentor medical writers, consultants, and scientific team members across all levels.
- Lead performance reviews and support individual development plans with clarity and fairness.

Qualifications and Experience Education
Degree-level qualification (2.1 or above preferred) in a scientific, medical, or health-related discipline, such as:

Advanced degree (MSc, MRes, Ph D, Pharm D, MD) strongly preferred.

- Strong understanding of HTA processes, payer evidence requirements, and value communication.
- Demonstrated experience developing or reviewing publication materials, dossiers, value communications, and scientific reports.
- Advanced scientific writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capability, including line management, coaching, and team development.
- Excellent understanding of evidence synthesis methodologies and interpretation of clinical and health economic data.
- Proven ability to drive quality, consistency, and scientific excellence across multiple complex programmes.
