About the role

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Corporate Senior Associate (6+ PQE) to join our highly regarded Corporate team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in high-profile transactions, advising a diverse client base including private and public companies, private equity firms, investors, and entrepreneurs across a range of industries. As a senior associate, you will have the opportunity to lead complex transactions, manage client relationships, and mentor junior lawyers, while developing your own profile within the firm. The team has extensive experience across M&A, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance, regularly handling high-value and complex transactions across multiple sectors. Key responsibilities

  • Leading and managing M&A transactions, private equity deals, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, and general corporate advisory matters.
  • Negotiating and drafting complex transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, investment agreements, and shareholder agreements.
  • Managing due diligence processes, coordinating with specialist teams across tax, employment, banking, and real estate to ensure a seamless client service.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic and commercially focused advice on corporate matters.
  • Taking a leadership role in transactions, managing deal teams and acting as the primary client contact.
  • Supporting business development and client relationship management, helping to grow the firm’s corporate practice and identify new opportunities.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and trainees, contributing to their development and technical training.
  • Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments, ensuring clients receive proactive and commercially sound advice.

About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute senior associate with at least 6 years PQE in corporate law. You will have strong technical expertise in M&A, private equity, and corporate advisory matters, as well as excellent leadership, negotiation, and client management skills.

Personal Specification

  • 6+ years PQE in corporate law gained within a leading UK law firm.
  • Extensive experience advising on M&A transactions, private equity, corporate finance, and general corporate advisory matters.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to handle complex, high-value transactions with minimal supervision.
  • A proven ability to manage transactions from inception to completion, working closely with clients and leading deal teams.
  • A commercial and strategic mindset, capable of delivering commercially sound advice tailored to clients’ business objectives.
  • Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify new opportunities and contribute to the growth of the firm’s corporate practice.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills, with a track record of advising high-profile clients.
  • Experience mentoring junior lawyers and trainees, providing guidance on technical and commercial aspects of corporate work.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach, with the ability to collaborate across different practice areas.
