About The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Real Estate Solicitor to join our highly regarded Corporate Healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of high‑profile and complex healthcare real estate transactions and M & A transactions, advising healthcare providers, corporate groups, funders and investors across the health and social care sector.
Working closely with partners and senior lawyers, you will support the delivery of healthcare‑focused real estate transactions, including acquisitions and disposals of healthcare assets, portfolio transactions, development projects, sale and leaseback arrangements, and the real estate aspects of buy‑and‑build strategies and corporate transactions. We are market leaders in healthcare M & A, acting for healthcare providers, established groups, corporate operators, funders and investors across different sectors within the health and social care market. The team has a strong track record supporting buy‑and‑build strategies and providing ongoing corporate advisory support. We advise across the full lifecycle of a healthcare business, from early‑stage growth through to acquisitions, disposals, refinancings, and exits, delivering commercially focused advice on high‑value and complex transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising healthcare clients on a range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and disposals of healthcare assets, portfolio transactions, sale and leaseback arrangements, and supporting the real estate aspects of M & A, private equity, and buy‑and‑build strategies.
- Assisting with and managing healthcare‑specific due diligence processes, including title, leases, planning, property finance and relevant regulatory considerations for healthcare assets.
- Working closely with clients and senior lawyers, supporting negotiations and assisting in managing transactions from inception to completion.
- Providing commercial and legal advice to healthcare businesses, funders and investors, ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare laws and regulations.
- Collaborating with specialists across tax, commercial, employment and banking to deliver integrated legal solutions for healthcare transactions.
- Supporting business development initiatives, attending client events, networking and contributing to thought leadership and marketing efforts.
- Supporting and guiding junior lawyers and trainees, sharing knowledge and contributing to their development.
- Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments, ensuring clients receive proactive and commercially sound advice.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of key real estate documents, including sale and purchase agreements, leases, agreements for lease, option agreements and ancillary documentation.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute real estate solicitor with experience gained within a leading real estate team, ideally with exposure to healthcare or life science matters. You will have experience advising clients on a range of real estate transactions, strong technical skills and a proactive approach to client management and business development.
Personal Specification
- Minimum of 2.5 years’ PQE in real estate law gained within a reputable UK law firm. Experience advising healthcare, social care or other regulated‑sector clients would be advantageous.
- Experience handling a broad range of real estate transactions, with exposure to corporate‑supported property work such as private equity and buy‑and‑build structures being advantageous.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and manage real estate risks in a healthcare context.
- Ability to support and manage transactions through key stages, working closely with clients, funders and other stakeholders, and assisting in negotiations where appropriate.
- A strong understanding of real estate law, property‑related regulatory requirements and market trends affecting healthcare and social care assets.
- A commercial and solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to deliver practical real estate advice aligned with clients’ commercial and operational objectives.
- Excellent client management and relationship‑building skills, with a track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
