About the role
As Senior Partner – Head of Energy, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the firm’s strategic vision for the Energy sector. You will lead a multidisciplinary team advising clients on a broad range of energy-related matters, including real estate, corporate transactions, litigation, commercial contracts, and employment issues.
You will leverage your extensive industry experience and client network to drive business development, enhance client relationships, and strengthen the firm’s market position.
Key accountabilities:
Strategic leadership
- Develop and implement the firm\’s Energy sector strategy, ensuring sustained growth and market leadership.
Client development & relationship management
- Leverage your network to attract new clients while strengthening existing relationships with key players in the energy industry.
Legal expertise & supervision
- Lead on complex energy-related legal matters spanning real estate, corporate, disputes, commercial contracts, and employment.
Team leadership & mentoring
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Business development & market positioning
- Drive the growth of the Energy sector group through proactive marketing, thought leadership, and participation in industry events.
Cross-practice collaboration
- Work closely with partners across the firm to ensure a seamless, full-service offering for energy clients.
About you
Qualified solicitor/barrister: A minimum of 10 years PQE with a strong track record in energy-related legal matters.
Proven leadership experience, ideally as a Partner or Senior Counsel at a reputable UK law firm.
Demonstrable sector expertise, with a deep understanding of energy law across real estate, corporate, disputes, commercial, and employment.
Strong business development skills, with a portable book of business being advantageous.
Commercial acumen, with the ability to advise clients strategically and commercially beyond legal considerations.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
Commitment to innovation and collaboration, embracing technology and new ways of working to enhance client service.
