Pay: £14.18 per hour (weekly or monthly pay available)

Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts per week)

Shift pattern: Monday - Sunday 20:00pm - 8:00am (Night shifts)

You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Male Support Worker to join a mixed-gender team providing 2:1 support to an adult in Chesterfield. This individual has mild learning disabilities, a schizophrenic personality disorder, ADHD, and other mental health needs, and may at times present with physically challenging behaviours. They love the outdoors especially camping in the woods, along with fitness, music, and visiting local pubs. We are seeking someone who can genuinely connect with them while offering consistent, structured support.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting daily living tasks while promoting independence
  • Assisting with financial management (all spending requests go through the team, which can be challenging)
  • Encouraging healthy routines, boundaries, and positive decision-making
  • Supporting mental health needs and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours
  • Building rapport through shared interests such as music, fitness, or social activities

What we are looking for:

  • Calm, resilient, and consistent in your approach
  • Non-judgemental and supportive, even when the person makes unwise or risky choices
  • Able to mentor and guide someone with impulsive or challenging behaviours
  • Passionate about helping people build structure, confidence, and independence
  • Someone who can engage on a personal level through shared hobbies or interests

Essential experience:

  • Previous work within mental health services, particularly with personality disorders
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
  • Background in managing or guiding individuals with risky or impulsive behaviours
