We are looking for reliable, dedicated Support Workers to assist with mental health needs. The ideal candidates must have British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or above. You will join a small team supporting an individual who lives at home in Bournemouth. Makaton is not accepted, as it is a totally different communication system and does not meet the client's communication requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing person-centred care on a 1:1 basis
- Support daily life
- Help with everyday tasks and keep activities positive and engaging
- Use BSL
- Communicate confidently using British Sign Language
- Encourage independence
- Support choice-making, wellbeing, and safe routines
- Work as a team
- Stay connected with colleagues to give consistent, high-quality support
Requirements:
- BSL Level 1 minimum (training provided up to Level 3)
- Understanding of the difference between BSL and Makaton
- Experience or interest in mental health support
