Shift Pattern:09.00 am- 21.00 pm, 21.00 pm- 09.00 am
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our dedicated team, providing 1:1 support during the day and overnight to a vibrant and outgoing young gentleman living independently in his own flat inTotnes, Devon.
He enjoys being active in his local community, including volunteering with a youth group and spending time supporting local young people. He attends the Quaker Society on Sundays and love arts and crafts, as well as getting out and about for coffee, lunch, and local walks. He is a big fan of sailing in a specially adapted boat with local sailors. He is a pet lover, his two guinea pigs are a big part of his life.
He has Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) and requires support with daily living, personal care, mobility, complex care, and psychological wellbeing. As a full-time wheelchair user, he relies on compassionate support to help him live as independently as possible. We are looking for someone who can provide consistent, person-centred support while promoting dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life.
Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:
- Full UK driving licence is required
- Previous experience supporting people with physical disabilities or complex care needs
- A person-centred approach that promotes independence and choice.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A compassionate, reliable, and flexible approach to support.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in different situations.
- Understanding of dignity, respect, and professional boundaries.
