About the Client

He is an older gentleman with a brain injury, paralysed from the chest down. He requires support with his colostomy bag, full personal care and medication administration, but does not need assistance with transfers. He has learning difficulties and mental health struggles. He loves cars and motorcycles and appreciates a good sense of humour.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Full UK driving licence, able to drive a manual vehicle.
  • Local to Alton and familiar with the area.
  • Experience with brain injury, colostomy care, and mental health support.
  • Interest in cars and motorcycles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality care on a 2:1 basis, ensuring compassionate and attentive support.
  • Engage in meaningful activities and take the client out in the community to promote social interaction and well‑being.
  • Support household tasks to maintain a clean and organised living environment.
  • Administer medication and manage a colostomy bag.
  • Maintain clear and confident communication in the client's preferred manner.
  • Deliver enriching activities and an empathetic approach to improve the client’s quality of life.

This role is part of our Team Brain Injury, supported by an experienced Complex Care Manager. We work in a variety of locations to support adults and children with complex care needs, focusing on person‑centred care and empowerment.
