Waking Nights – 20:00 – 06:00.
About the Role
You will be supporting a delightful young child who enjoys interaction and play. Your role will focus on ensuring his safety, promoting development, and supporting his medical and communication needs.
Clinical Needs
The individual has the following diagnoses and care requirements: Pierre Robin Syndrome, Cleft Palate (surgically repaired), Micrognathia, GORD (reflux), Tracheomalacia, Talipes.
He has:
- Tracheostomy
- PEG feeding tube (also now eats orally)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain airway safety through suctioning, nebuliser administration, and tracheostomy care.
- Provide overnight monitoring and support.
- Assist with PEG feeding where required.
- Encourage oral intake (as appropriate).
- Support communication using Makaton.
- Assist with posture using specialist postural aids.
- Engage in safe, stimulating play and interaction.
- Provide attentive supervision at nursery and at home.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with family and professionals.
