Quality Officer and Auditor

Location: Home/Field Based (National)

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for individuals with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated Quality Officer/Auditor to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our Quality Assurance and Compliance Framework. Having a full UK drive\’s license is essential for this role as you\’ll be required to occasionally attend face to face meetings and audits.

About The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Quality, you will work alongside the Quality Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Complex Care Managers to support our business divisions Team Brain Injury Support, Bespoke Health and Social Care, and Learning Disabilities and Autism. You will also collaborate with health and social care professionals, CCGs/ICBs, professional bodies, and key team members to ensure continuous service improvement and compliance.

Your role is vital in ensuring our services remain CQC inspection-ready and achieve Good or Outstanding ratings across all domains. You will conduct audits using standardized tools, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring necessary actions are taken to maintain service excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct planned and reactive quality assurance audits to meet CQC, commissioner, and statutory standards.
  2. Identify risks to safeguarding and quality of support and collaborate with operational managers to mitigate them.
  3. Ensure compliance with CQC regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and contractual obligations.
  4. Support operational teams in preparing for CQC inspections by carrying out mock inspections and audits.
  5. Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, helping them meet and exceed sector standards.
  6. Monitor and report on quality, safety, and compliance KPIs to inform service improvements.
  7. Review and develop policies and procedures to align with regulatory and best practice standards.
  8. Undertake serious incident investigations and support learning from incidents.
  9. Contribute to monthly governance reports and wider executive-level discussions on quality and safety.
  10. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, co-production, and innovation within the organisation.

Experience (Essential)

  1. Minimum 2 years\’ experience in adult health or social care, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex healthcare needs.
  2. Strong understanding of CQC regulatory frameworks and experience maintaining high-quality standards.
  3. Experience in auditing, compliance monitoring, and reporting on KPIs for assurance and improvement.
  4. Experience in policy and procedure development.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  2. Excellent IT skills, with the ability to manage data, reports, and audit findings.
  3. Strong understanding of quality KPIs and CQC regulations (Single Assessment Framework – SAF).
  4. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  5. Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for field-based work.
