Are you looking to make a difference in someone's life? We are looking for caring, reliable and confident Support Workers to join a small team supporting an individual who lives at home with their family in Leigh. This person has Sturge-Weber Syndrome, visual impairment, well-managed epilepsy, and developmental delay. As they are non-verbal, they communicate through their behaviour and sensory experiences. What really matters, though, is supporting someone who is fun, active, and enjoys a structured routine. To thrive, they require a consistent routine, clear boundaries, and a team of understanding individuals who can connect with them on their level. At times, they may become overwhelmed and express their emotions through their behaviour.

The ideal support worker will be patient, emotionally regulated, and able to provide a calming presence, particularly during periods of mood change. To help them make the most of these outings, we’re looking for people who know the local area and who hold a full UK driving licence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creating opportunities for meaningful activities at home and in the community
  • Encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting communication in the way that works best for them
  • Helping with routine household tasks to maintain a calm, organised environment

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for people who already have experience in:

  • Complex Care
  • Autism
  • Epilepsy
  • Behaviours that may be perceived as challenging
  • Mental Health support

Just as important is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and build positive, trusting relationships.
