Female Support Worker – Complex Care

Pay rate: £13.66 per hour

Shift Pattern:Monday – Friday 16:00pm-20:30pm and 20:30pm-8:30am and Saturday – Sunday 8:30am-20:30pm.

This individual has complex clinical needs & profound learning disabilities and lives between two family homes, one week with a parent and twin sibling, and the next week with the other parent. They also have a family dog so you must be comfortable working in a home with a pet.

They attend School during the week, where staff are trained to meet their complex health needs. Outside of school hours, this person requires adult support to engage in activities of choice. They have a love for music and enjoy listening to the radio and TV.

The right Support Worker will be required to drive and have access to their own vehicle unless you live within Caton village.

What will your shift involve?

In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 1:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. This individual requires assistance with PEG care, including nutrition, hydration, and the administration of medication. Regular monitoring of vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation. Seizure management is also a key part of the role, including the administration of Buccal Midazolam when necessary. Overnight, the individual uses a CPAP machine. The role also involves moving and handling, delivering personal care with dignity and respect, and providing emotional and psychological support as needed. In addition, the support worker will assist with attending appointments and help the individual access chosen social and leisure activities to promote inclusion and reduce the risk of isolation.
