We're looking for a female Support Worker to support a fun-loving young man with complex care needs in his family home.

He's a cheeky and playful character who loves music, sensory activities, tapping rhythms, stories and relaxing in front of the TV. Although he is non-verbal, he has his own ways of communicating and connecting through sounds, touch and sensory interaction. Getting to know these cues will be an important and rewarding part of your role.

This is a busy family household, shared with his parents, two siblings with ASD/ADHD and a small dog. It's a lively environment, so we're looking for someone who is patient, adaptable and comfortable becoming part of the rhythm of family life.

Alongside supporting his personality, interests and everyday wellbeing, you'll play an important role in meeting his complex clinical needs. He has Kabuki Syndrome, global developmental delay, chronic lung disease, visual impairment and swallowing difficulties with a high risk of choking. His care includes JEJ and PEG feeding, drainage and Farrell bags, oral suction and nebuliser therapy. You'll be supported to provide safe and compassionate care while getting to know him as an individual and recognising his unique ways of communicating.

Experience & Skills of a Support Worker:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with complex clinical or developmental needs is desirable.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal individuals, with the confidence to learn and respond to individual sounds, behaviours and sensory cues.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, as clear and accurate communication is essential.
  • Physically able to safely support a strong young person with movement, positioning and personal care tasks.
  • Non-smoker, due to the young person's respiratory needs.
  • Calm, patient and compassionate, with a strong person-centred approach to care.
  • Comfortable working within a busy and lively family home, including alongside siblings with ASD/ADHD and a small dog.
  • Able to follow structured routines, detailed care plans, risk assessments and clinical guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Observant and able to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing.
  • Reliable, adaptable and confident working both independently and as part of a wider care team.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where specialist medical equipment is used as part of everyday care.
  • Weekend availability is essential, with flexibility to work across the required shift patterns.
  • Most importantly, you'll be committed to building trust, promoting independence and supporting the young person to enjoy the activities and interactions that are meaningful to him.
  • Clear Career Progression - Opportunities to grow and develop your career.
  • Fully Funded Training & Acuity Academy - Ongoing training and recognised qualifications.
  • Westfield Rewards - Discounts with 1,000+ retailers, restaurants, and travel brands.
  • Westfield Health Cash Plan - 24/7 GP access and healthcare cashback.
  • Employee Assistance Programme - Confidential wellbeing and financial support.
  • Company Mobile Phone
  • Refer a Friend Scheme
  • Enhanced DBS Fully Funded
  • Weekly or Monthly Pay Available
