Support Worker Pay rate: £14.50 per hour

Shift Pattern: Bank position. 8am-8pm Days & 8pm-8am Nights

We have a rewarding opportunity for compassionate and dedicated personal Support Worker to assist an individual living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Plymouth. This role is focused on providing support in his day-to-day life, helping him maintain a sense of independence while ensuring they can continue to care for their children and engage in family life.

As part of this, the support extends outside the home engaging in fun family activities such as soft play, parks and visiting the cinema. To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Plymouth and know the area, and can drive a mobility vehicle (days only), holding a full UK Driving Licence.

Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person's life. You will also need to ideally bring previous experience with you in the following:

  • Complex Care ideally MND
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Ventilation and PEG
  • Provide assistance with communication via an eye-gaze computer system
  • Patience and understanding of MND and its effects on communication and mobility
