Support Worker – Female – Location: Armthorpe, Doncaster. Pay rate: £14.00 per hour. Shift pattern: 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one‑to‑one support to a sociable, fun‑loving 22‑year‑old woman with complex health needs who lives at home with her family.
  • Support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care and oral suction.
  • Implement safety protocols for Severe Epileptic Encephalopathy, including monitoring of the vagal nerve stimulator.
  • Assist with learning disability and hypotonic dystonic spasms and adapt care accordingly.
  • Manage gastrostomy and fundoplication care requirements.
  • Monitor and support scoliosis condition with spinal rod and provide assistance during movement.
  • Accommodate registered blind status – provide orientation and safe navigation support.
  • Engage in sensory play, pampering sessions, and community outings as part of a person‑centred care plan.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Driver aged 21+ with a full UK manual driver’s licence and a valid mobility van licence.
  • Experience or willingness to work 30 hours per week, flexible across the provided shift pattern.
  • Compassionate, patient and person‑centred approach.
  • Comfortable working 1:1 with someone with complex health needs.
  • Confident in reading and responding to non‑verbal communication.
  • Reliable, observant and able to contact emergency services confidently.
  • Training for complex care will be provided; prior experience is an advantage.
