Part Time Day Support Worker
Pay rate: £14.50 per hour (Monthly Pay)
Shift Pattern: Part time hours on 12 hour day shifts, 8:00am - 20:00pm & sometimes split shifts.
We have a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Fowey. This person has Autism and Paranoid Schizophrenia. There is a history of challenges and risks associated with these conditions, but this does not define them. More interestingly, they have a wide range of hobbies/interests such as Motorbikes, Engineering, and anything outdoors like Mountain biking & Surfing, so having similar interests would be a bonus and being willing to get involved is essential. To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Fowey and know the area.
Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:
- Autism
- Paranoid Schizophrenia
- Behaviours that can be perceived as challenging
In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 1:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include engaging with them in meaningful activities and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.
