Female Support Worker

Pay rate: Β£13.91 per hour flat rate

Shift Pattern:

  • Term time - 6.45am – 9.15am, 6.45am - 19.00pm, 14.15pm – 17.30pm
  • Non term time - Monday – Friday - 7:00am – 17.30pm & Every second Saturday 7:00am – 17.30pm.

We have a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Wigan. This person has Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, a curvature in their spine, they are nil by mouth and non-verbal but this does not define them. More interestingly they have a wide range of interests; they love to be outdoors during nice weather, animals (i.e., horses and piglets), pamper sessions with her team like foot spas, massages and face masks, and all things girly.

To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Wigan, know the area, and can drive a car, holding a full UK Driving Licence.

Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:

  • General care experience
  • Complex Care
  • Down Syndrome
  • Cerebral Palsy

In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a mixture of 2:1 & 1:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include engaging with them in meaningful activities and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.

This role sits within our Bespoke Health & Social Care family, and you will be supported by an experienced hands-on Complex Care Manager.
