Location: Severnside. Contract: Permanent, Monday–Friday.
The primary role is to optimise property conditions, service and standards while maintaining a safe on-site working environment. The Facilities Technician will maintain high quality standards and provide first-fix response to fault finding with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs and reactive maintenance
- Monitor and record data on facilities equipment, including boilers, air compressors and cooling equipment
- Assist in site compliance, including contractor control, permit-to-work, insurance inspections, Legionella
- Carry out repairs to building fabric (walls, doors, frames, skirting boards, plaster damage)
- Maintain plumbing and drainage systems (WC repairs, leaking taps, water testing, unblocking drains)
- Maintain high levels of water hygiene within a building
- Basic electrical competencies (replacing sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses)
- Demonstrate and implement energy, environment and sustainable practices
- Maintain grounds and external fabric (drainage, guttering)
- Safe use of hand tools (screwdrivers, power drills, pliers, etc.)
- Demonstrate the importance of resource control and stock
- Understand and apply Planned Preventative Maintenance principles
- Prepare for refurbishment or deep cleaning of equipment and surfaces
- Support office moves or individual requirements
- Support the quality team with low-level pest proofing
Skills and Experience
- NVQ in Plumbing – ideal
- General building competencies (electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communicator
