Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join us at our Severnside Dairy. As an Engineering Technician, you\’ll provide safe front-line reactive maintenance. You will actively identify root causes and bring equipment back into service as quickly as possible, as well as seek and identify cost-effective improvements to site assets and equipment, enhancing efficiency and reliability.

Permanent contract: 4 on 4 off (2 days & 2 nights, 7-7)

Key Responsibilities as an Engineering Technician

• Ensure effective handover of information across shifts.
• Use PMS to support prioritization and problem solving (RCFA).
• Diagnose faults and test, repair, and maintain Mechanical/Electrical equipment.
• Observe, recognize, and report machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure; provide CMMS data.
• Contact OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts when not available on site.
• Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren\’t clear.
• Work as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technicians.
• Coach operators with asset care tasks.
• Identify and implement improvements.
• Identify lifecycle issues and raise recommendations.
• Support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques for long-term fixes.
• Support departmental 5S programs for workshops and stores.

What We\’re Looking For

• Recognized apprenticeship.
• Experience within maintenance.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Mechanical/Electrical bias.
• ONC/HNC qualification.
• IOSH/Nebosh qualification (desirable).
• Electrical qualification.
• Multiskilled engineer experience.

Please note this is a 4 on 4 off shift role: days/nights rotating (2 days & 2 nights).
