An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training & Competence Manager to join a leading financial services organisation. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the Training & Competence framework, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring adviser competence, regulatory compliance and positive customer outcomes.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Business Quality, you'll lead a team of T&C Supervisors, driving consistency in supervisory standards, competence assessments and coaching. You'll use management information and data-driven insights to identify emerging risks, improve processes and support continuous development across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of T&C Supervisors.
- Oversee the delivery of the Training & Competence framework.
- Ensure consistency in competence assessments and supervisory decision-making.
- Use MI and data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement across T&C processes, technology and governance.
- Produce meaningful management information to support business decisions.
- Maintain T&C policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Operations and senior stakeholders to deliver strong customer and regulatory outcomes.
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (essential).
- Significant experience within a regulated financial advice environment.
- Previous Training & Competence experience.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
- Strong understanding of FCA Training & Competence requirements and Consumer Duty.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret management information and identify emerging risks.
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people and improving standards.
- Supervisory qualification (J07/H15 or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
Package
- Salary up to £65,000
- £4,236 annual car allowance
