Are you a part-qualified actuary (or talented exam-stopper) with life industry or pensions fund/investments experience? Do you have previous risk management experience? Do you want to make a difference within a growing life and pensions provider? This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in overseeing the financial risks of the company, providing 1st line review to assess/ensure effectiveness of frameworks and processes that identify, monitor and manage financial risks. In this diverse role, you will also provide support for the ongoing second line oversight of the first line's management of credit risks and ALM activities. In addition, you will provide oversight of Matching Adjustment-related risks. With experience of the regulatory environment in the UK, the successful candidate will have an understanding and experience of investments within the life or pensions industry, especially credit risk and illiquid assets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line review to assess and ensure effectiveness of financial risk management frameworks and processes.
  • Support ongoing second line oversight of the first line's management of credit risks and ALM activities.
  • Provide oversight of Matching Adjustment-related risks.
  • Apply understanding of the UK regulatory environment and investments within life/pensions, focusing on credit risk and illiquid assets.

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified actuary or strong exam-stopper with life industry or pensions fund/investments experience.
  • Experience in risk management within life insurance, pensions or related financial services.
  • Understanding of credit risk, illiquid assets, and ALM within a life/pensions context.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory environment.
