Activus Recruitment is supporting a well-established engineering business specialising in the supply, servicing, testing, and repair of powered lifting equipment and load measuring solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Workshop Mechanical Fitter to join their established team in Oldmeldrum.
This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to candidates with previous experience repairing, servicing, stripping, rebuilding, or testing lifting equipment, air hoists, hydraulic equipment, winches, or similar mechanical systems. Candidates from lifting, hydraulics, rotating equipment, plant, cranes, offshore lifting, or mechanical workshop environments are encouraged to apply.
The Role
- Assembly, servicing, testing, and repair of air hoists and lifting equipment
- Fault-finding and mechanical repair work within a workshop environment
- Strip, inspect, overhaul, and rebuild mechanical components
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Function testing and inspection of repaired equipment
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workshop housekeeping
- Working independently and within a close-knit engineering team
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
- Previous workshop-based mechanical repair experience
- Experience in fault-finding and repairing mechanical equipment
- Good understanding of workshop safety procedures
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience with air hoists, lifting equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, winches or rotating equipment
- Previous experience within lifting equipment, hydraulics, offshore lifting, plant or heavy mechanical workshop environments
