We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and experienced School Sports Coaches to join our team delivering high-quality sports sessions in primary schools. The main focus of the role will be delivering after-school sports clubs, with coaches travelling to different schools to provide fun, engaging and well-organised sessions for primary-aged children. Additional hours may also be available through wraparound care, holiday camps and some PE delivery, making this a great opportunity for coaches looking to build a regular programme of work across the school week.

Pay: £20–£25 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and level of responsibility.

The Role: You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging sports sessions for primary-school-aged children
  • Coaching after-school clubs across a range of local schools
  • Planning and adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and enjoyable environment
  • Managing groups of children safely and confidently
  • Encouraging participation, teamwork and positive behaviour
  • Ensuring sessions are well organised and appropriately challenging
  • Communicating professionally with school staff, parents and colleagues
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety and company procedures

Coaches will need to be prepared to travel between schools and venues depending on the weekly timetable.

Who We Are Looking For: We are particularly interested in coaches who have:

  • Previous experience coaching primary-school-aged children
  • Confidence managing groups of children independently
  • A positive and enthusiastic coaching style
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • The ability to adapt sessions for different ages and abilities
  • A genuine interest in helping children enjoy sport and physical activity
  • The ability and willingness to travel to different schools

Experience delivering sports clubs within schools is highly desirable. A sports coaching qualification, teaching qualification or other relevant experience would be beneficial.

Additional Hours: While the main role is delivering school sports and after-school clubs, additional hours may be available through:

  • Breakfast and after-school wraparound care
  • School holiday camps
  • PE and curriculum sports delivery
  • Other children's sports programmes

This can provide opportunities for coaches looking for more regular hours alongside their core school coaching timetable.

Hours: Part-time, term-time. Most after-school sessions take place between approximately 3:00pm and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Exact hours will depend on the schools and clubs allocated. Additional daytime, morning and school holiday work may also be available.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive coaching rate of £20–£25 per hour
  • Regular work within local primary schools
  • Opportunities for additional hours
  • A varied coaching timetable
  • Support and ongoing development
  • Opportunities to deliver different sports and activities
  • Potential progression into additional coaching, PE or supervisory responsibilities

Safeguarding: Safeguarding children is central to everything we do. Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding and safer-recruitment requirements.

How to Apply: Please apply with your CV and a short introduction outlining your experience coaching primary-school-aged children, the sports you are confident delivering and your availability. We are looking for coaches who are energetic, dependable and confident engaging children, and who take pride in delivering sessions that children look forward to attending each week.
