Aerial Access is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician with strong mechanical capability (or dual-trade) to join our team in Edwardstown. If you’re confident with diagnostics, automotive electrical systems and hands‑on problem solving, this is your chance to step into a varied role working across specialised equipment, with the added opportunity to mentor dual‑trade apprentices.

The work

  • This is not your standard workshop role. You’ll work across a mix of fleet maintenance, breakdowns and field service, with the autonomy to manage jobs from start to finish.
  • Your day-to‑day will include:
    • Diagnostic electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault finding
    • Diagnosing and repairing trucks, light vehicles, EWPs, chippers and specialised equipment
    • Completing preventative and breakdown maintenance across our varied fleet, both in the workshop and field
    • Assisting with general workshop tasks and cleanliness
    • Ensuring compliance with NHVR, defect management and service schedules
    • Supporting and guiding apprentices, particularly in auto electrical fault finding/diagnostics

What you will need

  • Strong mechanical capability or mechanical qualification
  • Proven diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working on heavy vehicles, plant or similar equipment
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • MR licence (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Strong safety focus and attention to detail

Desirable, but not essential

  • Dual trade (Auto Electrical / Heavy Diesel or Light Vehicle)
  • Experience with EWPs, chippers or vegetation equipment
  • Air‑conditioning systems experience
  • Hydraulic system knowledge or fault finding
  • Previous field service experience
