Main responsibilities of a Freight Forwarder:
- Planning and arranging collections and deliveries - Logistics
- Liaising with customers, carriers, suppliers, shipping lines, port authorities etc. by telephone, email etc
- Obtaining the necessary paperwork, Bill of ladings etc
- Admin / Administration support to all parties
- Data input / Data entry and general admin
Skills and qualities:
- Previous experience in Airfreight and general forwarding
- Knowledge of customs declarations in freight forwarding/logistics is an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure (deadlines), independently and within a team
- Attention to detail, competent in Microsoft, Outlook, and ability to learn new procedures
- Be driven and self-motivated
- You must be able to work under your own initiative to find solutions for complicated logistics movements from start to finish
- At times you are responsible for your own profitability
