Air Freight Forwarder Location: Dover Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm Full-Time/ Permanent, with rotational weekend and Friday evenings cover shared amongst 4 team members, paid as overtime. About We are a long established transport company based in Dover. We have carried general cargo on the international market for many years. Whilst we still carry some general cargo we are now focusing our attention on Aerospace. This is an extremely demanding transport sector which can span across several transport modes and continents. We may be attending and AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situation which will be closely monitored by the client and destination. Alongside our transport operation we run a very busy aerospace forwarding department. This is a very demanding area of the business but also rewarding. We are moving high value assets across many modes of transport which must be monitored closely every step of the way. This is a global operation and not for an inexperienced forwarder. The Role: You will be responsible for arranging the collection and delivery of aircraft parts, including engines, from anywhere in the world using our network of agents. Your attention to detail will be paramount to these operations. It is high paced and at times high pressure. You will be working in different time zones. You will be supported within the existing team. Key Responsibilities: Calculate rates for complex jobs by exploring various routing options which are dependent on urgency and customer requirements. Arrange transport with either sub-contractors / agents of or our own transport department depending on locations and urgency. Liaise with clients and suppliers monitoring transport movements from start to finish. Problem solve and anticipate potential issues. Raise invoices to clients / pass purchase invoice from suppliers.
