We're looking for a skilled CNC Miller to join our client's ambitious project with an exciting development plan. You'll take ownership of programming, setting, and running CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components for the medical and aerospace industry - working with materials like stainless steel, aluminium, and titanium. This is a hands-on role where you'll have real influence over machining strategies, tooling choices, and process improvements. If you take pride in producing quality work and enjoy problem-solving on the shop floor, we'd like to hear from you.

Working hours for this position will be:

  • Monday to Thursday 15:00 - 23:00
  • Fridays 14:00 - 20:00

What you'll do:

  • Program and optimise - Write and refine CNC programs using CAM software (SolidCAM, Fusion, CloudNC, or similar) and/or G-code. Troubleshoot 5-axis machining challenges and fine-tune toolpaths for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Set up and run machines - Handle tooling, fixtures, work holding, probes, and offsets. Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production runs.
  • Own quality - Inspect parts using micrometres, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges. Ensure everything meets drawing specs, GD&T requirements, and customer standards.
  • Improve processes - Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, extend tool life, and enhance output. Support lights-out machining through reliable setups and monitoring.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot - Diagnose issues like chatter, dimensional variance, or tool failures. Carry out preventative maintenance and flag any mechanical or control problems.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of CNC milling experience
  • Proficiency in CAM programming and/or G-code editing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant industry standards.

Working environment: You'll be based in a modern, state-of-the-art machine shop. The role involves standing for extended periods and handling tools and materials within safe weight limits.

If you have the required expertise and are interested in knowing some more, we would love to hear from you.
