The successful candidate will support the implementation of the company's quality strategy, taking ownership of supplier quality and working closely with suppliers, Engineering, R&D and Manufacturing teams.

The role of the Supplier Quality Engineer
- Managing supplier quality complaints, returns and NCRs/SCARs.
- Investigating manufacturing rejects and determining whether materials/components meet specification.
- Monitoring supplier performance and incoming material quality.
- Conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs) and supporting new product/material introductions.
- Conducting initial and ongoing supplier audits.
- Managing supplier changes, including product changes and end-of-life situations.
- Working with Engineering and R&D on product development and engineering changes.
- Supporting the release of non-conforming materials following investigation and risk assessment.
- Producing regular quality reports, including defect trends and Pareto analysis.
- Supporting supplier development and continuous improvement activities.
- Creating and maintaining incoming goods inspection templates.
- Visiting suppliers when required to investigate quality issues and conduct audits
Experience of the Supplier Quality Engineer
- 3+ years' experience in quality management within an industrial manufacturing/product development environment.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and managing quality issues.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, with ISO 13485 and/or AS 9100 highly desirable.
- Experience with NCRs, SCARs, corrective actions, FAIs and supplier audits.
- A practical understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point
