Active Staff are proud to be working with our prestigious client, who are on the lookout for an experienced HSE Officer to join their Quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment who is passionate about continuous improvement, compliance, and employee engagement.

The working hours are Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm

The role of the HSE Officer

  • Develop and maintain the company's Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.
  • Plan, conduct and report on internal HSE audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Carry out risk assessments, investigations, workplace inspections and environmental monitoring.
  • Support the HSE Committee and promote a positive behavioural safety culture.
  • Deliver HSE training and provide guidance to employees across the business.
  • Manage customer compliance requests and support external audits.
  • Monitor environmental performance, including waste and energy reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and departments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Travel between two Andover production sites as required.

Experience of the HSE Officer

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 50001 (desirable)
  • Degree or Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Energy Management Systems (desirable)
