Contract and Hours: Voluntary. Location: LNER Stadium, Lincoln. Hours: Home matchdays, including Saturdays and Tuesday evenings. Variable community events as required.

Roles: You may volunteer as either Poacher (the mascot in costume) or Poacher’s Assistant (supporting Poacher).

Responsibilities:

  • As Poacher: don the mascot costume, wave to the crowd, pose for selfies, and bring the Imp spirit to life.
  • As Poacher’s Assistant: keep Poacher safe, guide them through busy areas, and help fans enjoy their moment with the mascot.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, confident engaging with the public, especially children and families.
  • Able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and remain calm in busy environments.
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion – ensuring everyone feels welcome and respected.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with supporters, staff and external partners.
  • Physically able to wear a mascot costume for short periods (Poacher role).
  • Possessing good situational awareness to guide and support others (Assistant role).
  • Experience in events, performance, or public engagement is helpful but not essential – a positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are paramount.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 18 years old – we cannot employ anyone younger due to Child Employment Laws.
  • All offers subject to satisfactory references, a clear DBS and required safer recruitment checks.
