Job Summary

Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Tower Hamlets & Newham, East London

£95 - £120 per day

Full-time Long-term

September 2026 starts available. Some ASAP starts.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students during lessons across a range of subjects
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Assisting pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Helping students remain engaged and focused in lessons
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities and behaviour management
  • Encouraging positive learning and student confidence

Ideal Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, Behaviour Mentor or Tutor is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach
  • Passionate about education and helping students succeed
  • Graduates are encouraged to apply
