As a Maintenance operative you will:

  • Work on your own or as part of a team in the day-to-day maintenance repairs of Active Prospects owned/managed services where required.
  • To complete responsive repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishment works.
  • To support in project delivery to high quality works on time, to cost and resources.
  • To manage all equipment and tools associated with maintenance including company vehicles.
  • To carry out maintenance administration and paperwork as required.
  • To assist with ground maintenance team when necessary.

Property Maintenance:

  • To demonstrate competent, qualified and experienced plumbing skills, including fault finding, diagnostics, leak detection, pipework repairs, sanitaryware replacement, waste and drainage repairs, and hot and cold-water systems within the scope of the role.
  • To carry out 1st and 2nd fix plumbing works, bathroom and kitchen fit-outs, minor/major plumbing installations, repairs and component replacements to a high standard.
  • To undertake bathroom refurbishment work, including removal and replacement of sanitaryware, tiling, silicone finishing, boxing-in, flooring preparation, making good and associated multi-trade works.
  • To take a lead role in fault finding, including low pressure issues, no mains water supply, blockages on external and internal pipework, water leaks, defective fittings and follow-on remedial works.
  • To be competent in common pipework alterations and fittings, including copper and flexible pipework, soldering, compression fittings and crimping where required.

Garden Maintenance.

  • To assist ground maintenance team to maintain the gardens and review timetable of seasons for example planting of bulbs grass cutting, hedge cutting, weeding, hanging baskets and shrubs where required.
  • To work within an agreed budget ensuring value for money and increasing any funding opportunities with garden centres or providers.
  • To coach and mentor services or people we support to use and participate in their gardens, this may also include apprentices, interns or supported volunteers.
  • To review, monitor and ensure the maintenance of sheds, pathways, drives and preparation for adverse weathers such as snow in line with the business continuity plan.
  • To ensure van is kept clean and well organised

General Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the organisation's policies and procedures are followed at all times when delivering services. In particular to be aware of, comply with and promote at all times: Safeguarding plicies and practices.
  • Equality & Diversity plicies and practices.
  • Health & Safety plicies and procedures, in order to protect your own safety and the safety of others.
  • To ensure any information relating to people we support, staff or the organisation is treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998) and organisational policies and procedures.
  • To provide regular oral and written reports to the line manager and / or Service Manager on works required and progress with work.
  • To maintain and update records using IT systems as required, including Health and Safety records.

Minium of 5 Years experience as multi-trades and bathroom fitouts/plumbing.
