Active (Pathways) Solutions is looking for a hardworking, experienced Mechanical Fitter to work on a substation project in Sanquhar, DG4. Monday - Friday, 45/50 hours per week.
Duration: Until November
Pay rate:
- £30.00 per hour
- £45 per hour Saturday and Sunday
- £50 dig allowance if over 50 miles
Payment: LTD or CIS
Must have previous experience working on substations would be ideal.
Duties and responsibilities of the role:
- Carrying out mechanical fixing and installation work on site
- Installing, assembling and positioning mechanical components and equipment
- Reading and working from drawings, plans and specifications
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems
- Working alongside other trades and site teams
- Following site health and safety procedures at all times
- Keeping work areas safe, clean and tidy
- Following instructions from the Site Manager and supervisors
Skills and attributes (desirable):
- We are looking for someone who is an excellent team worker and familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures.
- You must be able to follow written and spoken instructions and be capable of working with minimal oversight while following directions closely.
- Valid CSCS card
- IPAF and/or NPORS certification would be desirable
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fixer
- Experience working on substations would be highly desirable
- Good understanding of construction site health and safety
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Flexibility to work across different locations in Scotland
You must have relevant mechanical fixing experience and be able to provide references. You must hold the relevant site qualifications and have a good understanding of construction health and safety procedures.
