At South Grove House, we're looking for compassionate and resilient Day Support Workers to join our team, supporting men with autism, mental health conditions and complex needs.

This is more than providing day-to-day support. You'll build meaningful relationships, encourage new skills and experiences, and help individuals take positive steps towards greater confidence and independence.

We support individuals who may be transitioning from hospital environments or stepping up from supported living or other residential settings.

Through structured routines, positive behavioural support and personalised care, we help people develop confidence, strengthen everyday living skills and work towards greater independence.

Working Pattern

38.5 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Shift Times: 7:45am - 7:45pm

The structured rota gives you visibility of your working pattern in advance, working three shifts one week and four the next.

The Opportunity

As a Support Worker, you'll become an important part of the lives of the people you support.

One day you might be helping someone develop practical living skills, the next supporting them to access their local community, take part in an activity or work towards a personal goal.

You'll provide the right balance of encouragement, structure and practical support, helping individuals build confidence and achieve meaningful progress at their own pace.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Helping people develop independence and everyday living skills
  • Supporting structured routines that provide consistency and reassurance
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Supporting communication, social and practical skills
  • Encouraging meaningful activities and greater community involvement
  • Supporting access to education, employment, leisure and social opportunities
  • Using positive, proactive approaches when individuals experience challenges
  • Working closely with colleagues and other professionals to deliver individualised support
  • Promoting dignity, choice, wellbeing and independence every day

About You

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and genuinely motivated by helping other people succeed.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience supporting people with autism, mental health needs, learning disabilities or complex needs
  • Confidence building positive and trusting relationships
  • An understanding of person-centred support and positive approaches to behaviour
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm and patient approach when situations become challenging
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, choice and independence

Most importantly, you'll see the person first, recognising their strengths, ambitions and potential rather than focusing solely on their support needs.
