About the role


We’re looking for a Head of Development to lead and oversee the effective delivery of Sport England place investment across Skegness & Wainfleet. You will manage programme delivery and budgets, lead the Skegness & Wainfleet place partnership, and work with partners and colleagues to deliver measurable reductions in inequality and support more active lives.


Specifically, this work will focus on creating positive opportunities and experiences for children and young people. This will involve strengthening local partnerships, embedding youth voice, activating safe community spaces and local assets and building the skills and capacity of local organisations to deliver sustainable opportunities for young people.


What you’ll be doing



  • Lead and oversee the investment programme across the coastal and market town communities of Skegness & Wainfleet, ensuring progress against agreed outcomes and driving sustainable change.

  • Provide inclusive leadership to the Skegness and Wainfleet team, creating a supportive environment where people can thrive, develop and succeed against clear, shared measures of success.

  • Build trusted relationships and navigate system complexity with strategic stakeholders across sectors (including local authority, health and care, Voluntary and Community sector and local businesses).

  • Manage programme budgets, contracts and suppliers; provide key updates, insight and reporting to Sport England and internal governance.


What we’re looking for



  • Ability to connect, collaborate and influence local district partners to embed physical activity in community policies and ways of working

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale funded programmes.

  • Committed to tackling inequalities and working inclusively, with a focus on communities with the greatest need and opportunity for change.

  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills; confident providing insight and updates to senior audiences.

  • Local knowledge of Skegness and Wainfleet, commitment to spending in-person time in these communities.

£40,000 - £49,999 pa (dependent on skills and experience)

37 hours per week (flexible hours considered)
