About the role
We’re looking for a Head of Place to lead and oversee the effective delivery of Sport England place investment in the Boston District. You will manage programme delivery and budgets, lead the Boston place partnership, and work with partners and colleagues to deliver measurable reductions in inequality and support more active lives.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the Boston ‘place’ investment programme and be accountable for delivering agreed goals and outcomes, driving sustainable change.
- Build trusted relationships and navigate system complexity with strategic stakeholders across sectors (including local authority, health and care, VCSE and local businesses).
- Provide inclusive leadership for the Boston team, setting clear measures of success, supporting development, and creating psychological safety.
- Manage programme budgets, contracts and suppliers; provide key updates, insight and reporting to Sport England and internal governance.
What we’re looking for
- Experience of managing large-scale funded programmes, with strong delivery and performance management.
- Ability to connect, collaborate and influence local district partners to embed physical activity in community policies and ways of working.
- Committed to tackling inequalities and working inclusively, with a focus on communities with the greatest opportunity for change.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills; confident providing insight and updates to senior audiences.
- Willingness to spend in-person time in Boston and travel across Lincolnshire as required.

- £40,000 - £49,999 pa (dependent on skills and experience)
- 37 hours per week (flexible hours considered)
